I ran the Sedalia Turkey Trot this morning. I am incredibly pleased. It was really fun and surprisingly well organized for such a tiny event. There were about 200 people (that I saw) and there were some serious athletes participating.
I made a few mistakes with this run... I had about half a papa john's pizza the night before and I felt like I was running through a tub of cheese around mile 2.
My mom took these photos!
So the photos ahead are a tiny bit unflattering, but I am so proud of myself that I think I can swallow a little bit of it.
Update: The race results are posted HERE. And I'm on the page! Search Maria Zimmerman!

I'm so happy my parents were there. |
With a small race you dont even have to organize a meeting location. People are just right where you left them. |

They didn't close down the road. That car is being particularly nice though. |

I didn't catch that man's name, but he told me that he got that awesome jacket by being on the olympic committee. I am beyond impressed. |
The event was held at the Sedalia County Budweiser distribution office. |
Me, my dad, and bing bing. |
there was music for the before and after coordination. You know, this is the first time i've been apart of a race with announcements at the beginning. |
I waved at this fella and he waved back. People are so friendly here! |
