I was a mentor for the Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) conference today. I led I group of 7th grade girls through activities that were meant to encourage their future career choices. I went to the very same conference when I was in middle school. It was interesting to see the same events with grown up eyes. The day was much shorter than I remember, and the workshops were MUCH more amazing. It is interesting to see how people interpret science as appealing to young girls. They showed pictures of women in science, told them about their lives, and related them to the girls.
