What you can see here is the beginning of my new journey of learning how to cook. Being a vegetarian is tough because there are only a few restaurants that cater to vegetarians, and it is normally over priced for what it is. Then there is the fact that it is hard to go to a restaurant alone and the escort is seldom a vegetarian (except for when I am with Ariel). I am also looking to save money, lose weight, and eat healthier.
I started out by going to Henry's and picking out some good looking ingredients. The only item I didn't get were tomatoes because all they had was the fancy on the vine expensive stuff. I got home, cut up my ingredients, and had a stir fry. I was disappointed to discover that my wok was missing. I loved that wok and it is the only pan that I actually owned in the kitchen. RIP wok.
I think it turned out pretty good. It took an entire 45 to make overall. Cooking for one leaves enough ingredients to have this all week, so I will have plenty of time to experiment. Next time I am going to put the tofu in early with the onion and garlic so it can absorb more flavor. In this trial, the most delicious thing was the mushroom because it had time to soak up that delicious garlic.
Notice that I ate it next to my lovely cross stitching so I could create a nice ambiance.
