Dress to Skirt

I made this dress for myself in college out of two yards of thick cotton twill. I fancied myself a siren of the silver screen. Over the years I cropped the top and nipped the waist in as I grew out of the freshman 15. The result was a dress that is so revealing that I can no longer wear it in polite company. My plan is to turn it into a skirt that I might actually wear.
I ripped off the top using a stitch ripper and repressed the seam on the waist band. The result is a skirt that looks much more professional and a whole lot more versatile.

I think this change is a massive change for the better. The print and fabric screamed day dress while the color and cut screamed cocktail. It was a disaster really. Now, I can at least pair it with a top that can explain my fabric choices better.
