Runners Walking to the Starting like at the 2013 Rock n Roll Marathon |
1. On average how many races do you run a year?
Well I didn't do any races last year so I suppose I'm at a weird time in my life. I did two this year though, and I have a few more races I am trying to win lottery for in the mix for later this year and next.
2. Head accessories, things you have to run with: a hat, a visor, sunglasses, chapstick, sunscreen, head band, ponytail, braids, sweat band?
I like wearing a hat, nike sunglasses, and a pony tail.
3. Where do your workouts come from? A training plan, a coach, whatever you feel like doing that day or what your training partner is doing that day?
It comes from my gut. Right now I am off a plan since I am still recovering from the Rock 'n' Roll but I envision buying a Runners World plan for my next race.
4. How many miles on average do you put on a pair of shoes?
I tend to run my shoes until the wheels come off. My vibrams have big holes in them now. So I guess... 500?
5. Cell phone: do you bring it with you on your run or leave it at home?
Take it with me. I get scared when my runs take me far away.
6. What was your last running related injury or have you been an injury free runner?
I am now recovering from a stress injury in my foot. Besides that I was injury free leading all the way up to the marathon.
7. Is your current running goal about running a farther distance (adding more mileage) or getting faster or BOTH?!?
I am saying neither. I just completed the longest run I may ever do. So right now my goal is to maintain, pull down my mileage, and try to lose some weight.
8. What is your favorite sports bra?
Moving comfort hands down.
9. Stretching after a run: hit the ground after a run and get stretching, stretch in the shower, stretch once you get to work/school, skip the stretching?
I skip it. I have the same opinion the new york times has on the early screening for breast cancer. It causes more trouble than its worth.
Considering I was injury free up until my marathon, I think I think I can say that my system is working for me.
10. What was your reason(S) for starting to run?
I started to run back in college for stress relief and alone time. I kept doing it because of how proud of myself I was after my first half marathon.
11. What is your favorite way to cross train?
ROCK CLIMBING.
Pilates close second.
