My first Trad Lead


One of my new years resolutions this year was getting proficient in trad and outdoor climbing. Scott has been highly helpful in this endeavor, letting me use his rack, teaching me the tricks, and criticizing my setup. I recently got lead certified in the gym, and have been playing around with mock trad leads outdoors. This trip to Mt. Woodson marked my first real real trad lead.

 I have unusual talent at crack climbing so we went to Elsies crack (5.7) most of the way up mount Woodson. I am glad I had my trusty old approach shoes to get me there safely.
