My first short story

I wrote a short story about a blind man named John Egner who gets lost alone in the woods.

Writing for other people is very hard.

I am extremely proud of my characterization of John, but I am wondering how transparent this is, how much John is me. Will I ever be able to write another charactor again? I'll just write about the same person over and over again in different circumstances, proving the same themes. What a person with limited life experience can write, eh?
