Holidays are almost here! I have been itching for a Kate Spade dress to wear to my handful of social engagements but I can't stomach the $400 price tag. I've been scouring ebay with a fine tooth comb, but while the prices are better, I can't stand that I want to pay so much for a simple cotton frock. Sandee Royalty has some pretty cute knockoff skirts, but it just makes me think that I should try to make one myself. She gets plenty of advertisement from Kate Spade Girl who gets me closer to clicking the buy-it-now every day.
Maybe I should try renting one? A Kate Spade dress rental is $75 for 4 days and $120 for 8. If I wanted to wear it twice in the next two months it would mean that I would have the same cost per wear as renting one if I buy it on ebay. If I am able to wear it 5 times, then I could get one new for the same price... but that just isn't the cost per wear for normal clothes. Real clothes have a cost per wear of pennies. I've worn my $25 dollar pair of pants a hundred times this past year, and I will probably won't throw them away tomorrow...
