Simple Hydrangea Arrangement

This week's flower arrangement
This week I bought Hydrangeas for the table. I went to the farmers market, costco, and then finally trader joes searching for reasonably priced flowers to brighten up my week. Just three hydrangea stems were 6 dollars. Notably, this is the same price I paid for the bouquet last week.

I have always noticed hydrangeas and admired them for thier beauty, but I didn't know how they would be so easy to arrange. They have big floppy heads so I had to employ scotch tape to effectively reduce the size of the spout.

Apparently Hydrangeas are quite fininicky and need copious amounts of water. This website gave me a few tricks on how to increase the surface area of the stem to improve the water adbsorption by the plant.I used a cutting board and a butchers knife to hack off the ends of the woody stems at a 45 degree angle. One of the videos I watched also recommended soaking them in hot water to soften the stems.

The arrangement is a rather simple one. They are all parallel and symmetrical around a center. I only have one color and one type of flower.

They are super beautiful.  I can't help myself from taking the same photo over and over.
