1. Earthies Women’s Treviso Oxfords: I just bought these on
amazon, which, if you haven’t heard, is having a shoe sale. I love investing in
items when I know that I will wear the hell out of them, and I know I’ll get my
use out of these evidenced by how I have already had to banish a few pairs of
overused oxfords the trash.
2. Silver Metallic Nail polish: I have completely ran out of
gold metallic nail polish and I think the silver will be a good complement to
the two tone manicures I have been seein.
3. Roses. I went to the swap meet last week and, on a whim,
bought a beautiful bouquet of pink and orange roses. Does anyone buy flowers
not on a whim? They’ve been delightfully filling up my living room. Today,
while the flowers were beginning to desiccate despite my constant misting, I
decided to dehydrate them. The flowers maintained their color and light scent.
I have them sitting in my potpourri jar as we speak. I am thinking I should
make buying flowers my once a week thing, they’ve been so lovely.
4. Horner Panther GCF Accordion: I just bought one of these
this month! I love it. It’s a funny thing that happened. I felt SO empowered by
making both of my new years resolutions last year that I decided on diving head
first into some other things I thought I would never have time to accomplish.
Those accomplishments being learning a new instrument and learning a new
language. I have struggled for years trying to get interested in the guitar, so
I decided to pick up a new instrument from scratch. I love the sound of the
accordion, so I decided to give it a shot.
5. Todo a Mano Artistry hand lotion. I bought a jar of this
stuff when I was visiting the lovely design district of Encinitas. Todo a Mano
Artistry had a booth in one of those 101 shops bazaar type establishments. The
lotion smells amazing in a non artificial way, and I am finding that I am
greatly preferring it to my go-to Victoria’s Secret hand moisturizer. I like
putting it on after I’ve washed my hands, which lately, has been about 5 times
a day.
6. Mangoes. They are coming back in season. I eat about 6
mangoes a week, and I am sure once summer rolls around, I’ll up my intake until
I enter a raw food type sugar coma.
7. Pinas y Chile powder. I bought this combination from a
man at the farmers market chanting “dollar a pina, dollar a pina, dollar a
pina” for about 2 hours straight. A dollar a pina is an excellent price, and I
was surprised he had to sell it so hard. The try it samples they were using to
promote the fresh pineapples were sprinkled with lucas/chile powder and it blew
my mind. I am wondering what else I can put chile powder on.
8. Diamond Earrings. I tried these on at an antique mall. My
mom has a pair, and I always thought I’ve have a pair someday too, you know,
when I’ve made it. They were of course too expensive. Still, maybe if I happen
across a pair that is in my price range…
9. Radio flyer wagon: Wouldn’t it be adorable if I pulled my
puppy around the swap meet in one of these? It would be flowers and puppy based
adventures every single week.
10. Evolv Shaman Climbing Shoes: I managed to work through a
pair and a half of climbing shoes in as little as one year. I hear this is
common, but its nice to hear that I am actually making use of my gear.
Sometimes I buy things that open up my imagination and I never find myself
using them at all. When I asked for advice on resoling my old pair, the
climbing gym manager told me that, well, there are more modern styles from me
to chose from nowadays. I get the hint. I think if I actually spend the money,
these shoes will last me for another 2 years.
Until next time!
