Liz Corbin in a Vintage Dress, vintage scarf, kate spade glasses, Aldo heels. |
Liz and I got together for an epic 4 hour photoshoot complete with 2 costume changes. We used a lot of props, and I think when it comes right down to it, Liz looks better in my clothes than I do.
I used my umbrellas and 5' softbox. Again, the softbox yielded slightly better results. I think next time I am going to lead with the softbox and then end with the umbrella. I stuck with a 1/4 manual flash at 55mm and used the kit 18-55mm. I feel confident now that I can take more than just interesting portraits with my setup, but I can actually do some full body shots.
I put together a pinboard for our retro inspired photoshoot. You can view the pinterest board here
In Summary,
I think I want to do some more editorial stuff. This fashion shoot was really fun and rewarding. Now that I know I can do full body stuff, the possibilities have really opened up.

The 30 Photoshoot speedlight challenge is a Self Challenge where I attempt to learn as much as I can about single source lighting before I graduate to adding a second source to my kit! The reward of course is a second speedlight. I do my best to be reflective about my experiences to make them as instructive as possible.
