Gondola |
I became completely unwound
today. I am so completely lackadaisically relaxed that I didn’t even realize
how much stress I was storing until now. Time is slipping away from me like
petals from a field of dandelions.
Today we rode the gondola to north village, had hot chocolate in the lobby, had smores on the patio, then went to the spa. It was perfect.
First we rode the gondola into North village.

Me riding in the Gondola. People in the opposing gondola are in the photo as well. |
We did some excellent bonding time with our friends and traveling companions. These amazing lovely folk make this trip twice if not THREE TIMES as amazing as it already is. And of course, without Casey, none of this would even have happened.

Clearly, I thought the gondola was endlessly beautiful and spent many moments trying to capture the wonder of this elegent yet deceptively space age device.

Beautiful Gondola |
We then went to the hotel lobby to drink hot chocolate and socialize. These are some truely amazing people I have managed to find in the world.

Marshmellows roasting |
At 4:30 we checked out the "Marshmology:Art of the S'more" activity. It was adorable. There were tons of children, and we shamelessly scrambled to get in line behind them. They had both regular marshmallows and "homemade" ones. Its not exactly homemade if it is made in the kitchen of a high class resort, but I still more than appreciated the effort. The homemade s'more they offered for roasting was raspberry s'mores. It was AMAZE.
The lady orchestrating the event was awesome. She declared that she was a doctor in marshamellow studies, Marshology. She even had an intern. She was giving us instructions on how to roast our marshmallows and where to stand in line for our treats. She warned the small children not to get too close or they might burn themselves. One of the guests said, "Well, I am a doctor". The Marshmallow lady said, "I am also a doctor". Then the guest said, "I am actually a doctor" and the marshmallow woman said, "I am a doctor". It was hilarious and perfect. This is just another example of how professional and committed the staff members are at this hotel.

This is the swimming pool I later jumped into in the freezing cold night |

It was so cold you could see your breath! Although you probably can't see it here |

Food for dinner |
I understand now why people stay
in these wonderful resort hotels. The people are all kind and happy, everything
is complimentary, and people just go out of your way to help you. I went to the
spa today and bounced around the whirlpool steam room and dry sauna until all
the salt precipitated off of my body. Then I went and jumped into the outdoor Jacuzzi
while snow blow all around us. I took a long bath while drinking a glass of
wine.
