Alex and I went to the New Children's Museum in Downtown San Diego today. It was a delight. Its not the sort of museum we would normally find ourselves in since we aren't exactly the demographic. I had so much fun I thought I would explode. We were vetting this location out for our event planning reasons.
While it might seem a bit too kindergarten during the day, I think it would give off a hip urban feel at night.
This exhibit is called the orange grove. It was trippy. Everytime you walked through the space and touched one of the balls, a piece of sound would be thrown at you. It was extremely directional. It filled and exhilarated my senses.
This place is essentially a playground created by contemporary artists. The exhibits really ignited the imagination.

I am totally in love with this location. I think it would be so charming at night. My only reservation is that I can not get an estimate from these guys, making me think that if we have to ask, it is too expensive. We are still going to check out other locations, but this is totally my first choice. To be honest, my next best idea is eloping.
If you having a hard time picturing the grandeur of this venue, check out some of the real wedding photography taken here.

I love this one. Its just too bad that the blue structure was taken down in lieu of that large table we sat under

I loved that chalk arch they made in the New Children Museum Park. It really ties the event together. Its also a shame again that the blue structure was taken down. Also I LOVE that lace dress.

I can't stand how amazing the Jack Daniels Motif is.
