Sunday morning was intense in Palm Springs. Every breakfast place was full, every sidewalk teeming with people. We participated more in the Modernism Week activities by taking our own little tour of mid century modern inspired homes using an awesome App we downloaded by the Palm Springs Modernism committee. It was fun, and I wish we could have spent more time lounging and perhaps drinking than we did.
Here we are leaving the hotel.
And Driving
Then we walked around quite a bit.
We had a hell of a time finding a place to have breakfast. There were not one but two street fairs happening off of Palm Canyon drive. Cheeky's, which I wanted to visit quite badly actually, had an hour long wait. I also couldn't stand the voice of the woman who said that sentence to me.
We finally settled on a place called Riccios. It wasn't a hard decision. It seemed like they were the only place within a mile that had seating.
Alex told me he had the best Tuna Sandwhich of his life there. My caprese wasn't half bad either.
Then we went on an architecture tour. Alex Downloaded an app that walked us through all the notable buildings.
Here he is with his App
The fire station was one of the special buildings.
And so was this run down old walk through building.
And this starbucks lol.
The Oasis hotel had a gathering for the design people who came to check out modernism week.
Something about design and hope for the future involves built in wall clocks.
and super flat roofs.
and siding like this.
We started getting tired of looking at mid century modern buildings around sunset, of which we decided we should start heading home.
Now leaving palm springs!
I had this view for just about 2 hours.
Until next time,
Maria
