Julian Tree Lighting 2016

Alex loves visiting Julian. For the uninitiated, Julian is a San Diego borough and the closest thing to remote country town I've seen in Southern California. We decided to visit during their Annual Tree Lighting the weekend of Thanksgiving to kick off our Christmas Season.

We got there late, really at the crack of dusk. We decided to do some light shopping, have a small meal, and visit the pioneer museum.

The shopping area had quaint and puzzling displays.
We bought hot apple cider,a cup of coffee, and a slice of banana bread at this small coffee shop on the end of main street
This photo was taken from the coffee shop back room just as the sun set.
An unfortunately blurry photo of the lit christmas tree
As the christmas tree was being lit, the children started sitting down and making requests for Santa Claus in the Manger below. I find it to be an interesting intersection of iconography when they do that.
We took a selfie in the Pioneer park Musuem.

Merry Christmas!
