Our original plan for today was to buy a day pass at a local
spa, but my stomach wasn’t agreeing with me. We also thought it might be nice
to visit Playa Medano again but my goodness the wind has really picked up since
the earlier parts of our visit. Hurricane season is almost in full force. We
decided instead to visit the Puerto Los Cabos Marina to round our experiences
in San Jose Del Cabo.
We took two busese to get to the Marina from Zona Hoteleria.
There was a lovely little swimming area and the fanciest fish cleaning station
in all of Baja California. We bought a fresh green coconut from a neat little
food truck and sat with it on the rocky shore.
We walked around the marina through a pretty sketch part of
town on through to a sculpture garden that was without description and rather
ominous at times. We planned on visiting the botanical garden to see all the
types of local cactus, but it didn’t seem to be open despite the signs saying
otherwise.
We had a cup of coffee at a cute café called Café Calafia.
From
there we went onto Baja Brewing Company to try the rest of the beers brewed in
Baja. My favorite was probably actually the Baja Blonde despite having a strong
affinity for the Raspberry Lager. We had the worlds spiciest vegetarian Panini
as well as three empanadas. Our Waiter Gustavo was gregariously memorable.
We walked across the bridge onto downtown San Jose Del
Cabo. It tripped me out that there seem
to be wild cows everywhere. They still had their horns, leading me to believe
they would charge if interrogated. They didn’t look like domestic milking cows
like I see along the grapevine. They looked like cows that earned a few meals
if you know what I mean.
The wind was going strong and we felt cold and it felt like
a perfect time to buy another souvenir. We decided to buy a Baja Hoodie to fit
Alex so I could borrow it. I think he looks rather dashing. This is the store where we bought Alex's Hoodie
We went home and had a power nap before heading out again
for a Mega Run nightcap at around 7:30pm.
