I noticed some of my food blogs were talking about a clothing subscription box service called stitchfix. Notably, none of the fashion blogs I follow mentioned it. A 20 dollar commitment didn't seem so bad for a subscription box. It didn't feel so bad especially since I am not known to be the best dressed.
So if you have never heard of stitch fix before it works like this:
I thought filling out the style profile was SO FUN. It really made me feel like I was a refined lady with discriminating tastes. I had to pay a $20 non refundable deposit but they take it off the top if you decide to buy anything. There is also a 25% discount if you decide to keep everything.
I told them when I would like the box to come and it came today, a day early.
Each piece, save the necklace, come with cute little style cards in case you don't know how to wear your potential new outfits.
Without further ado, here is what I got!
1. Two Tone Acrylic Leaf Bib Necklace by 41Hawthorn -- $32.00
- Also pictured Above. For some reason the jewelry did not come with a style card.
- I wore it some of my photos below but honestly I did NOT like it. I know that stitchfix is partnering with baublebar but I just don't like statement jewelry on me. I don't like their weight and how just "on" they feel. It isn't clothing I could live in.
- I know some people look EXCELLENT in statement jewelry, but it makes me look like I am trying too hard.
2. Maxwell Ladder Stitch Silk Blouse by Daniel Rainn -- $88.00
3. Lyah Chevron Print Sleeveless Blouse by Fun2Fun -- $58.00
I don't know why I got this top. I told them that I don't like to bare my arms, especially in the workplace. This sheer top has a white undershirt that has to be worn underneath. Its nice and flowy like I tend to like my shirts fitting, but at the same time it feels a bit sophomoric. Isn't this what the kids are wearing nowadays? I don't want to look like I am still in high school.
While sleeveless, this top felt a bit tight across the shoulders. Is that a contradiction? I am willing to make an exception if it turns out that I want to keep everything else.
4. Aiden Flutter Sleeve Blouse by Fun2Fun -- $48.00
I like that its blue, light, loosely cut and silk. I do not like that is $88. Its also a bit lower cut than I usually do. I would definitely wear it to work. Once I feel comfortable wearing something to work it is worn to death. This one is a keeper.
. I like the color and the neat crease detail in the front. Its not a ton of arm but I feel a bit like they didn't even look at the style profile that took me 15 minutes to fill out.
It is better quality than the rest of my work-shirts though.
Also its longer in the back than it is in the front. Is that popular? After seeing myself in that photo, I don't think I like it very much.
5. Jeanie Geo Print Maxi Dress by Tart -- $98.00
- This dress is NOT forgiving. I thought I still had it before I slipped on this clingy little number. Nothing is hidden. My boyfriend/photographer thinks it looks amazing but I think the general public would be less inclined.
- Also sleeveless. What the heck?

Not to mention that its a tad long. I don't know how I would hem this weird jersey fabric anyway. So what do you think I should keep? I have until Sunday to decide....I am not sponsored by stitch fix. Actually, I am paying them. If you decide this looks crazy fun (which it is!) I think it would be swell if you used my link! They give me referral credits if you do.Update: I decided to keep it all. I explain how I justified this decision HERERead about my second stitchfix here
