I got this jacket and shirt in my stitchfix this month |
I didn't like this one as much.
Here is a neat info graph that explains how the service works.
It is always fun to see what people would pick for you. I fear that I have so much fear and body dysmorphia that I overlook some really beautiful and flattering clothes. I really believe I have been dressing better since the beginning of this charade.
If you recall, I was so enamored with the beautiful clothing and the excellent experience from my first stitchfix that I kept the whole shebang.
First up is....
Pentra Neck-Tie Silk Sleeveless Blouse ($78)
Pentra Neck-Tie Silk Sleeveless Blouse worn with the long necklace they sent me. |
I haven't seen this top in any other stitchfixes online so far =/.
Don't let me buy that shirt.
Enamel Spade & Cutout Long Necklace ($48)
|
I don't like the necklace, unlike many others who received this in their fixes. Its too long. It is so obvious I am wearing a necklace when I am wearing that necklace. The gold color also isn't the greatest. I'm not in love, and I am pretty sure I would have to be if I am going to pay that much.
Its only a 10$ markup from this website! That's not even tongue in cheek, I understand they got to make money off of this.
Benson 3/4 Ruched Sleeve Blazer by 41Hawthorn ($78)
I like the color, the fit, and the length.
|
I actually think its super cute. Alex told me not to get it by all means. The fabric is odd. It is not suiting fabric, it is a cotton/polyester material. That means I probably would not be caught dead wearing this blazer to work. It doesn't help that people don't wear blazers at my workplace.
I think it looks adorable with the mini skirt I've been sporting these hot summer months. Trying on this jacket in the dry September heat has also been a cringe factor in fronting the cash.I also feel a little funny about the snugness of the arms. Its not too small, but it definitely is snug.
The stripes on the sleeves match the stripes on my skirt. This is the same color that Monika got in her stitchfix.
Also, bonus, did you know that 41 Hawthorne was a company created by stitchfix? I think that is pretty neat. Stitchfix is is playing with the big boys.
Giuliana Bootcut Jeans ($88) and Abbie Striped Button-Up Cardigan ($78)
Giuliana Bootcut Jeans and Abbie Striped Button-Up Cardigan |
This photo is a twofer featuring both the jeans and striped cardigan.
The jeans are a little big. I have been building up my half marathon training again so I have lost a few inches around the waist and thighs. Now, I am between sizes. This isn't the fault of the jeans nor lazy profile updateing. They just don't fit plain and simple.
Also they are bootcut and too long. I don't normally wear bootcut jeans. Hemming these pants would cost me another 20 bucks but that wouldn't improve how loosely they fit.
Lets talk about the cardigan. The colors are fun. I just don't like that nude color stripe that goes across my boobs. This stripe makes me look wide. I do not need to look wide at that exact place if you know what I mean. Also, this cardigan fits a tad bit tightly. You can tell it doesn't fit right by how much the button band puckers.
Another disappointing thing is that I made a pinterest board for this fix in hopes that the stitchfix crew would get stuff that is a little more spot on. I put it in my profile and everything. The pinterest board I made is viewable here. Sure they included a silk sleeveless top, but the style and color were all wrong. I pinned jean jackets and skinny jeans and they sent me a burgundy blazer and bootcut jeans. Sure I love that burgandy blazer, but it still feels like they didn't look at my pinterest at all.
I am not sponsored by stitch fix. Actually, I am paying them. If you decide this looks fun (which it is!) I think it would be swell if you used my link! They give me referral credits if you do.
