This is how I plan to set up my sport climbs |
Once I have those suckers I'll set them up like this. ->
2. Minnetonka moccasins. Wouldn't these be so cute, comfortable, and so totally work place appropriate? My black boots are a little harsh for everyday, and I think I could use some casual cool while we ebb into spring time.
3. Smoking flats. These are the evening solution to my need for new casual flats. I'm identifying a hole in my wardrobe. Its like the longer I stay away from cable television and all forms of advertisement, the more heels sound like an absolutely stupid idea.
4. An alpine backpack. This sweet 55 is currently on sale at black diamond. This yellow matches my chalk bag perfectly. I just haven't pulled the trigger yet because, well, without a rope I really don't have anything to carry now, do I. I measured my back and at 19inches, I am a respectable medium.
5. Cams. I want to learn how to set up trad climbs in addition to sport climbs but that is a way bigger goal that I have to think seriously about for much longer. For one, Its a lot a lot more expensive. Each cam is close to 70 dollars, and you need quite a few of them to feel equipt to set up on whatever route you happen upon. For two, its a lot more dangerous to set up your own climbs, especially at first you could imagine. Scott has been teaching me to set up anchors, and I've had a few of them really really suck. Makes me think I should also have a helmet on this list.
6. Belay gloves. You know, I hear often that belay gloves can prevent a majority of climbing accidents. However, when I tried them on while belaying recently, I felt just really uncomfortable and incumbered. I felt nervous, like I couldn't really grip the rope like I was supposed to. I see what they mean though, one hand burn and climbing would be so over.
7. The joshua tree climbing guide. This book is so sweet, and awfully familiar. I think I am going to try to get back out to joshua tree in early march.
8. The San Diego climbing guide. This book is in no way as good as the vogel joshua tree guide, but its what we have so it'll do. As the memory of joshua tree fades away, I realize just how much more realistic it would be to have the san diego guide if not ONLY the san diego guide.
9. The lululemon half marathon. I was in line when the lululemon half marathon website crashed and they pushed the sign up back to february 3rd. My interest has waned since then, though. It would be so expensive and I would only be there for a few days. I'd also be in vancouver without the intention of climbing in squamish. Isn't that ridiculous?
10. Boulder colorado. I don't know how to articulate this, but Boulder Colorado has crashed into my radar. It seems like its just like San Diego but cheaper. I'd have sunny days, climbing, beer, skiing, and affordable housing. It sounds a tiny bit like paradise
