10 Things lately.. Mid March

1. Have you ever eaten cactus? It is like eating a mixture of grass and cucumbers. The flavor is a lot like olives when put in pasta sauce. I bought mine at the Escondido farmers market. Worth the price of admission? you decide.

2. I am up to measure 5 on my button accordion on La Valse d'amelie! Here is a video of me stumbling through it. I think there is something wrong with my button accordion though, because it is making some sort of clicking sound that sounds just god awful.

3. You've probably heard that I finished the blanket I was knitting.

4. The iphone game of the moment is Smash Hit. I can get past checkpoint 4. The ability to start over at checkpoint 4 is starting to entice me to pay the 2 dollars for the premium version. When I put it like that, it doesn't sound like that much money at all.

5. Its official, I listen to freakanomics. Lately, I've been looking forward to the episodes more than stuff you should know. I think thier titles and objectives can be kind of grandiose, and they rarely convincingly prove their hypothesises (like the mind control episode), but when they do (the does it matter which president is elected episode), it will change the way you think.

6. I am now an REI member. They talked me into it. And besides, I somehow like the idea of being an REI member more so than I like the idea of saving money by being an REI member, do you know what I mean?

7. My dog is sick. Buffy has licked almost all the hair off of her paws and scratches herself until she bleeds. I am sick with worry.I brought her to the vet and he recommended a specialist, a dermatologist. It will be grossly expensive, but the doctor says that on a scale from 1-10 in how bad off she is, she is a 10. It breaks my heart to hear that.

8. I dehydrated my daises. The ones from the swap meet went bad so fast. The saggy stems just look so ... sad. It is a complete transformation over how they looked just two days ago.
