The eye must travel

I am sick. I've slept so much these past 24 hours that the division between dream and reality is blurring. I can not feel my face. I know staying in, not working, and relaxing will help me get better, but its so difficult for me to give up my weekend in favor of my physical well being. I had plans! I had to give up working (there is a deadline I missed on friday), a climbing trip to mount woodsen this morning, and studying for my midterm (due online sunday night).

Still, I am alive (for now) and the eye must travel. Here are the things that have captured my heart and imagination this week, despite being confined to the four walls of my living room.

1) This Elsa Inspired Wedding Dress. I do have nuptials coming soon myself.. hmm.

At $1,200 its downright a bargain for a wedding gown.

2) Mens Haircuts ala The Style Enthusist

I never thought I would seriously consider a mans haircut until I saw the style enthusiast. She looks amazing.
3) This cape dress. I always thought capes on amish women looked so dashing. Nicolette Mason really knocked this dress out of the park. I think this dress would look fabulous at my company christmas party. Since they are so used to seeing me in trousers, that is.

4) Blank Space by Taylor Swift. I laughed out loud when I saw this video. I have totally been there, Taylor, and you make crazy universally relatable.  I especially love that moment at 3:39 when she goes ballisticly ineffective on that tree.

5) Mean Tweets. Jimmy Kimmel has celebritys read mean tweets about them. Its a simple premise and quite addicting. More than the celebrities reactions I love hearing how randomly mean (and creative) people get in thier twitter messages. Although the reactions are priceless as well.

Kristen Bell pretended to cry in the video embedded below (@ ~2:02). It really drew attention to how awkward the situation is, to how awkward tweeting about a person you don't know is in the first place. (how awkward was it that they hash-tagged Kristen Bell instead of Kristen Stewert?) She did something awkward in an awkward situation. What is someone supposed to do with that information? It really draws attention to how little individual opinions matter in the grand scheme of things. Was I supposed to not have an epiphany? Well, I did, Kristen Bell, and thank you.

6) Urban Decay Naked Palette.

I feel sick and gross now, but I think I'll feel pretty again latest 2 weeks from now. That perfectly calibrated estimation in mind, I ordered a Sephora Gift Card to come at the end of that two week time period. Its always this time of year that I can redeem my points on my Wells Fargo Rewards Card. I have heard good things about the Urban Decay Naked Palette, and I think it would be a good purchase for me. I wear a lot of brown makeup, and I've hit tin on all the brown/beige/nude colors in my Sephora Holiday 2012 eyeshadow palette. I've also heard of good things about the Urban Decay "on the run" palette coming out holiday 2014.

I also think I'll have points left over for Sephoras " Formula X" Nail polish. I bought one in the past just to try it out and its awesome. It looks almost like a jelly polish, and doesn't even start to chip until after a whole week. That is with rock climbing and everything. Its magic.

These colors are at the top of my list

How perfect would this nail polish be with matching lipstick.

I used to shy away from yellow because of the yellow undertones in my skins. Now I embrace it. This shade would really be fabulous with my yellow Kate Spade Purse.

7) Dot and Bo.

I bought a new Chaise Lounge and I have been wanting to decorate my new living room piece with some festive throw pillows. The only ones that have captured my serious attention are on the Dot and Bo website. Here are the ones on the top of my list.

While I was there I noticed an awesome gift idea

This map starts gold but reveals a colorful topography upon a scratch attack. The gift urges the user to scratch a country whenever they have visited it. I know several world travelers that would appreciate a good challenge.  Its rather beautiful wall art for less than $20

8) Advanced Style the Movie
I follow the blog, I have for a long time. When I saw that advanced style had a movie, and on netflix to boot, I jumped to watch it.

Something about the blog captured my attention. Its fabulous that someone, anyone, is advocating the presense of older women in society.

Hope you don't get sick this season!
