Self Portrait |
1)
I worked on 2 paintings last month: the self
portrait (before I injured my face) and a space YoYo painting. I think the self
portrait is mostly done, but I am going to touch up the YoYo painting a bit
more before I call it good to go. I have a feeling that I will linger on it
quite a bit because I have not yet mocked up my next project.

2) The post office messed up my friends birthday
gift. I tried to send it to her for the beginning of june, and it just got back
to me. I was feeling antsy the whole time Megan said it hadn’t come. The post
office really embarrassed me on this one.
3)
I discovered a new blog to be obsessed about:
Crux Crush, a blog about women’s climbing. It is really influencing the way I
think and talk about climbing. I have read articles about peeing outdoors,
climbing while pregnant, and the importance of projecting.
4)
I am trying to get a photo in Climbing magazine.
I really think some of my shots could make it. I am a dedicated climbing
photographer and I certainly have a lot to choose from. I emailed them asking
for FTP access and they haven’t gotten back to me yet. I am starting to think
that they looked at some of my stuff and think I don’t meet standards.
5)
I bought a new day pack! I have been in the
market for one for a few months and I am happy to say that I finally took the
plunge. I’ve been scouring sales and craigslist ads for a backpack buy. I
eventually went to Nomad Ventures to splurge on a full priced one and I am so
glad I did. They measured my back length with their back length device and
determined that I was a size small. That was super surprising because I was
very ready to buy a size medium on REI.com. Nothing about me screams small,
especially not the small side of small like my friendly salesperson was
implying. It is a super cute bag and feels really manageable when I’m wearing
it.

I am trying to get Alex into climbing. I need a
consistent belay partner, and my boyfriend would be a convenient choice. We
need a ton more gear before we can climb together outdoors, but he seems like
he likes it.
7)
I have been getting into watching Vikings
Lately. I am already midway through season 2 and I am itching to get more. I
love that the history channel is making scripted dramas and they are really
hitting it out of the park on this effort. I love, love, love Lagertha.
8)
I hurt my face on my last Mt. Woodsen Trip. It
is healing slowly. I was very embarrassed about it at first but now I’m getting
very used to having bandaids on my face. It two about two days before I could
talk to someone while maintaining eyecontact without touching my face self
consciously.

I am spending some nice quality time with my
dog, buffy. She is really cute, and I am enjoying cocreating adventures with
her. I am thinking about sending her on a surfing lesson! I did some dog park
strolling and some café sitting with her. She is so sweet, and I can tell every
little bit of time I spend with her outside the house is opening up her world
10) I
finished the book Glitter Baby by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. I am
currently working on the book Breathing Room by the same Author. I am
dragging my feet on putting the review up, but lets just say for now that I
thought the book was very enjoyable.
That’s all for now!
