I'm Skiing! |
On the third day of skiing we decided that we were comfortable enough to take the DSLR out into the park. I was quite concerned but I am ultimately glad we did it. The photos are beautiful.

Everyday we ski feels just a little bit different. We rent new skis boots and poles every day, and each time we must adapt. We do the bunny hill first everyday to see if everything feels right. Today my heel was slipping in the ski boots so I had to exchange them. The rental guy hated that I wanted to exchange my size 8 ski boots to just another pair of size 8s. They different styles wear differently! You can tell that ski rental folks think that beggars can't be choosers. The whole thing was a hassle. Walking around in ski boots sucks and so does poleing around on level ground just to get back and forth to the rental shop. This is an excellent case for why we should start acquiring our own gear. I think a pair of my very own ski boots would be quite useful next year.
I posed for this picture.
I am looking behind me to make sure there isn't any oncoming traffic before switch direction. It was very crowded that day!
They taught us to try to keep our weight forward in the lesson we took.
StEasy street
I started feeling more comfortable after the 10th time down easy street. I held the camera and took some excellent photos of Alex. He is really progressing very fast.
Alex tried to convince me to use the terrain features, and I kept psyching myself out. I managed to do it twice but never with enough speed to get all the way over it without stopping.
I managed to pull my big lululemon hood over my helmet.
We closed the park down, skiing until they wouldn't let us onto the lift anymore.
I think I am seeing a GoPro in our future. The DSLR did an excellent job, but it was a big risk that we shouldn't have to make.
Skiing is so fun!
